Does the thought of the Rodeo conjure up images of dusty arenas and old grizzly cowboys? Or do you think of the pretty Rodeo Queens riding their gussied-up horses? Maybe it’s the carnival rides and games that draw you to it? Or the thought of a fried twinkie?
During Spring Break (March 12-16, 2012), an unlimited Carnival ride wristband are $15 (good from 11 am – 5 pm). We enjoyed the small lines by getting there right at 11 am and rode many, many rides!
While there were not many Rodeo events to watch during the day, there is TONS of fun activities for the kids, including the Swifty Swine Pig races, H-E-Buddy Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, and the Kidtown.
There is an impressive line up for the Nighttime Concerts, which happen right after the ProRodeo each evening. You will get your fill of Steer Wrestling, Bareback Riding, Team Roping, and more at the ProRodeo. But make sure you get there early enough for the Mutton Bustin’!

What?! We don’t have carnival rides and fried Twinkies at our rodeos!
Just wannabe cowboys. Blech.
