Actiontec introduces 2 new products that help alleviate the problem with messy TV cables. MyWirelessTV 2 and ScreenBeam Mini2 both eliminated the need for cables, providing you with wireless streaming throughout the home. I received both to review recently. Here is what I thought:
I love technology and gadgets that help make my life simpler. And I have been super excited to start working with Best Buy in reviewing some new products before they come on the market. At the end of May, I was sent 2 cool products from Actiontec – MyWirelessTV 2 and ScreenBeam Mini2.

My husband was very excited to receive the MyWirelessTV 2. He is such a neat freak that he actually with zip tie all the TV & HDMI cables together behind the entertainment center to keep them out of site and all bundled together. His eyes lit up the minute I told him we received the MyWirelessTV 2 to try out.
He immediately set up the transmitter & receiver in our living room TV and had it installed within minutes. Some of the things he loves the most about it:
- Works on TVs with an HDMI port
- Works on HDMI-enabled cable/satellite set-top boxes, DVRs, Blu-ray and DVD players and game consoles
- Connects with the above devices up to 100 feet away, even through walls & floors
- Totally supports high-definition tv shows/movies/games/etc.
We are in the process of building an outdoor patio with a fireplace and had it wired for electricity so we can hang a TV over it. We have already purchased another MyWirelessTV2 to use outside so we can connect our satellite/DVR box to the tv outside without having to order another satellite box. And again, no messy cables!
This would make for a terrific Father’s Day present for guys who are into keeping their cable boxes/DVR/cords all in order!

We have had subscriptions to Netflix and Amazon Prime for a few years now, however, we always find ourselves watching the streaming content on our iPads. Now with the ScreenBeam Mini2, we can mirror our laptops and watch all the streaming on our big 50 inch TV. It took less than 10 minutes to set it all up and now we can see anything we want to stream in a much larger format.
I personally like the ability to each movies or shows together again as a family, as we have easily gotten into the habit of watching things by ourselves, plugged into the computer. It’s isolating and I am excited that we can start streaming family movies together again. In fact, I have a whole list of fun childhood movies that I can’t wait to introduce my children to this summer!
