On Sunday, June 28, our family embarks on a 5 week road trip across the Eastern portion of the United States. Our goal is to hit as many historical sites along the way. My two older children have taken or will be taking US History soon, so we felt this was the perfect opportunity to see these great sites that helped form the America we live in today.
#Austin2Boston
Catchy, right? We have always wanted to visit the great city of Boston and we felt like that would be our perfect turn-around point. So where are we stopping along the way, and why it is going to take us 5 weeks? We plan on spending a day or two (sometimes 3) in most of the major cities along the way, focusing on historical sites as much as we can. But don’t worry – we are going to fit in some fun theme parks as well!
Here’s where we are planning to visit:
New Orleans, LA
Montgomery, AL
Atlanta, GA
Virginia Beach. VA
Williamsburg, VA
Washington, DC
Gettysburg, PA
Hershey, PA
Philadelphia, PA
New York, NY
Boston, MA
Niagara Falls, NY
Cleveland, OH
Cedar Point, OH <—- That one’s totally all about the roller coasters!
Indianapolis, IN
Springfield, IL
Austin, TX <—– Home.
What are we Driving??
And the best news? We are taking a Kia Sedona along for the drive! Our family is super stoked about working with Kia for our #Austin2Boston road trip! The kids are thrilled to be able to stretch out and have room as we drive cross country. And I am really happy to have a vehicle that is award-winning in safety. I can’t wait to tell y’all more about the features on the way.
Meet Little Jake
lastly, we are bringing a little friend along for the ride. Since we can’t take our beloved 18 month old German Shepherd, Jake, we are taking the next best thing —-> Little Jake!
Little Jake has set up his own Instagram Account and will be taking photos documenting his trip along the way. Make sure you follow him and see what he is up to……
Ok, humor us – this is my kid’s brilliant idea and they would LOVE for you to follow their fun.
We would love you to follow along on our big adventure! I will be writing & vlogging from the road, so please watch for the posts each evening. We will be looking for advice along the way – if you have any “must-dos” along our route, I want to hear them!

Looking forward to following along. We just finished from Florida to Texas and last summer did Florida to Canada, you have so many great stops planned! Wish I would have connected with you while were there in Austin. Next trip I hope. You will love the Kia Sedona, we took it up to Atlanta on a road trip a little bit ago and loved all of it’s features. Safe travels!
