How many of you have been working on the Austin Summer Fun List this summer??? We have had so much fun checking fun things to do in Austin off the list.
The Back to School Music Bash is the last hurrah to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year. Featuring local musicians, the kid- focused event will take place on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Thinkery (1830 Simond Ave.). Admission is free!
Families with kids of all ages are invited to join in the fun. Besides live music, there will be door prizes, food available for purchase from Galaxy Cafe, and free swag for the kids. The Music Bash is the finale of the Summer Fun Checklist (AustinSummerFun.com), where families can celebrate the fun they’ve had learning about Austin while checking items off the list. Families can bring their completed checklists to the event for chances to win even more prizes from Summer Fun Checklist sponsors The Little Gym, Round Rock Express, Top Notch, Zocalo Cafe, Galaxy Cafe, Terra Toys, Bright Horizons, Birds Barber Shop, Concentra and Music Forever Music Together.
Local musicians Lee Alexander, Elizabeth McQueen, The Que Pastas, Rosie Flores and Joe McDermott will keep the party rockin’ till bedtime, and kids can play and discover at the Thinkery’s exhibits, which will also be open until 8:00 p.m.
