Friday Daydreamin’: Thankful for Texas

November 1, 2012 by Rebecca Darling

Spread the love
Happy Friday friends! Time for Friday Daydreamin’! My favorite day of the week as I get to armchair vacation through all of your lovely photos!!
With Halloween done & gone, we have 3 weeks to bask in all the reasons we are Thankful. And this upcoming month, I will be sharing all the places in Texas that I am Thankful for.
The first place on the list is located in my most favorite area of Texas….the Hill Country. Enchanted Rock, a huge granite monolith, is a fantastic place to hike, climb, and enjoy the view.
And Texas wouldn’t be Texas without the Alamo.  The Alamo is a sacred and special place for most Texans.  Representing standing firm for what you believe in, it is a lasting monument to those who built this great state.

Beautiful shots! I would love to visit the Alamo soon. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pictures. Such a neat post idea for November.

I haven’t been to either of these places yet. I’ve always wanted to see the Alamo & Enchanted Rock looks like a great place to hike & be thankful for.

The only part of Texas that I’ve ever seen is the inside of Dallas Ft. Worth airport and a little bit of the tarmac.

Thanks to your blog and your nice pictures I now know that I need to plan a driving tour of the south someday soon. Thanks!

When we went to Cadillac Mountain in Maine’s Acadia National Park, we decided it looked like Enchanted Rock. I’m thankful for the whole state of Texas!

For all the times I’ve been in Teas, I’ve never seen the Alamo. Would really like to next time i’m in the area.

Needless to say I think the Enchanted Rock looks like a great hunk or rock to climb!I’d never heard of it before.

I know I’ve said this before when you’ve posted about Enchanted Rock, but I still love how small people look in the long shots of it. Kind of like little ants scurrying to the top. The Texas sun can probably make it feel like some kid has his magnifying glass focused on you trying to fry you as well.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the Texas spots you will feature! I visited San Antonio quite a few years ago with my mom, and have such great memories.

I’m going to jump on the Alamo bandwagon. I’d love to visit it too! Happy Friday!
