The following is a review of the Dash Robot – a STEM Learning & Educational Toy. My 2 sons (14 & 8) gave it a try in our household. Here is what we think.
Summer has definitely settled in for us. After 2 weeks, the excitement of stay up late, sleeping in and staying on our pajamas until 2 has dissipated. Couple that with the almost 100 degree temperatures in Texas, and we are just about to hit that summer slump where we need a little excitement.
Enter the new Dash Robot that Best Buy sent us to play with and review. Dash is a real robot for children ages 6+ that will teach a child how to code while they are having fun. With the use of a smartphone (and a free downloaded app), my boys have had hours of fun with their Dash. They were able to program Dash to move, dance, light up, make sounds, avoid obstacles, and even react to their voices.

My boys really enjoy educational toys that help stimulate their brains into building & creating. The Dash Robot incorporates STEM concepts – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. STEM products encourage kids to develop core skills in these areas. Best Buy has a large variety of STEM products from basic learning games to advanced toys, helping to develop logic and problem solving skills.
Along with the Dash Robot, we were sent the Dash Launcher and Xylophone to go along with it. Within minutes, my boys had him up and running. and to be honest with you, they played with it the entire afternoon. They chased the german shepherd, shooting balls at him with the catapult. They scared their sister by recording their voice and secretly programming Dash to go into her room. And they tried to recreate a few Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 songs on the xylophone. It was HOURS of entertainment.

The Dash Robot was very easy to set up. Of course, I handed it over to my 14 year old to get it started, but honestly, it was very easy – so easy, Mom could figure it out. 
I love that number one, Dash presents my kids with hundreds of projects, challenges and puzzles as well as endless possibilities for freeform play. They played for hours this afternoon, inventing tons of different scenarios. Secondly, Dash reached my kids coding, making them realize that is it both easy & fun to do. The STEM aspect of the Dash Robot gives my children strong creative and problem solving skills for the future.
We found the Dash Robot to be so much fun! My boys have already spent a whole afternoon playing with him and I can see hours of fun over the summer.
