One of my favorite movies of 2017, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, is coming out on Blu-ray today. We received a preview copy and found some pretty fun reasons why you need to have it. Here are 6 reasons to get the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Blu-ray.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: The Movie
I was so lucky to have the opportunity to attend the red carpet premiere & press junket of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 in April. What an incredible experience to screen the movie not only at the theater the Academy Awards are held in but with the cast in the audience. Chris Pratt was only a few rows behind us – it was crazy!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 continues the fun adventure of this crazy group of Guardians as they learn the true meaning of family. The Guardians (Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket) learn about Peter Quill’s true family and fight to make him see what family means to him. The addition of Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Kurt Russell as Ego make it an all-star cast.
As much as I liked the first movie, this one was even better. If you haven’t seen it yet (WHAT? For real?) you must grab it today to see it. And if you have, you know how good it is….now here is all the fun you can get with owning a copy of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Blu-ray:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: Bonus Features
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Blu-ray had some great bonus features – like really great. To me, this is the real reason to buy the DVD. Beyond loving the movie (which you will), learning how it was created is so cool! Here’s what you will get:
The Making of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
A four-part, behind the scenes look at the making of the film, done in the style of classic-rock album liner notes. This is always my favorite part about owning the DVD – I love to see how scenes were filmed, the meaning behind the scenes and what was cut.
Visionary Intro
Director James Gunn provides context on how he continues and expands the storyline of these beloved characters in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. One of my favorite interviews of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 press junket was with Gunn. It is fascinating to hear how he developed and wrote these movies – and SO happy to hear he has started Vol 3!

This video dropped at the beginning of August and every time I watch it I laugh out loud – try to see if you can catch all the cameos!! Make sure to watch it til the end!
Gag Reel
Laugh out loud at all the hilarious off-script shenanigans and bloopers that took place on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 featuring all your favorite Guardians. Who doesn’t love to see all this fun? You know with this cast, there are some great ones. Too bad they didn’t include Micheal Rooker’s prank on Pom Klementieff.
