When my 5 year old comes home from school each day, he is STARVING. Poor guy eats lunch at 10:30 am, so no wonder he wants a full-course meal when he gets off the bus. And truth be told, he’d much rather eat a whole bag of chips if I let him.
Do I have a special snack waiting for him as he walks through the door each day? No. But I’m trying. While the kid would prefer I pour him a bowl of goldfish and let him sit down to a cartoon, I want to be more vigilant about what he puts in his mouth.
So, here’s comes crafty Rebecca (It’s only out for a limited time y’all…..).
Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks
Pirate’s Booty is like gold in my house – literally one bag will be gone in 10 minutes between my 3 kids. I like them because they are baked, have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, and they don’t leave a mess behind. My kids like them simply because they taste good. Win-win!
At an attempt to get more veggies in my kids, I was anxious to try the new Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks. Yes, I know dear friends that these do not compare to actually feeding my kids carrots, however, they do have 20% of the Vitamin A daily allowance – bam!
How do they taste? A bit sweeter than you’d expect. We thought they would be salty but they have the sweetness of carrot in a baked puff. They have a great crunch and my kids loved them.
Fun Spring Snack
Sometimes the presentation makes the difference. How good does it feel for our kids to come home to a cute snack on the table versus the same boring hunt through the pantry? Wanting to try something different (and I have always loved th0se carrot snack bags on pinterest), I grabbed a few decorating bags and filled them up with the Carrot snacks, tied them with some greens and ta-da! Super easy & cute!!
When my little man got off the bus, he was excited to see that his mom made a fun snack for him, and I was happy to know he was eating a healthy snack.
These are a great idea for Easter party treats, classroom snacks, or even fun spring treats for anytime. Taking less than 10 minutes to assemble each bag, they are super easy in this non-crafty mom’s book!
Disclosure: I was sent a few bags of Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks for our family to try. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
