One of our favorite things to do as a family during the holidays is look at the Holiday Light Displays in Austin! Here’s our guide for where to see the Best Holiday Light Displays in Austin, TX and the surrounding area:
Holiday Light Displays in Austin
Austin Trail of Lights: We get so excited to see the Trail of Lights in Zilker Park each year. Beginning December 10 and going through the 23rd, guests are invited to walk the trail beginning at 7 pm and lasting until 10pm. Also, the Zilker Tree is ablaze nightly starting Nov 25. Lakeway Trail of Lights: From Dec 6 – Jan 1, the City of Lakeway invites you to their annual Trail of Lights from 6:30 pm – midnight. (free) 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX 78734
Mozart’s Coffee: At the top of the hour each night, Mozart’s displays Christmas Lights shows starting at 6 pm and going to midnight. (reservations needed) 3825 Lake Austin Blvd. Austin, TX 78703
Texas Capitol Tree: Music & Light show every half hour featuring local musicians from now until Jan 6. (free) 11th and Congress Avenue
Bastrop River of Lights: This free half-mile walking trail is located in Fisherman’s Park and is illuminated each night from 6PM -9PM from Nov 23 – Dec 31. (free) Fisherman’s Park, 1200 Willow St.
Buda Trail of Lights: This walking trail of lights is open on December 6-8 and 14-16 and 21-23 from 6 pm -10 pm nightly. Free parking & shuttle at Cabela’s. (free) Historic Stagecoach Park, Buda, TX
Lights of Tejas: This amazing display features several walking light trails, an indoor light show with a multi-media telling of the Christmas Story, refreshments and more. Lights are on weekends November 24 – December 29 ($7+) Camp Tejas, 1038 PR 2191, Giddings, TX
Santa’s Ranch: A drive-thru Christmas Light Park is located just 30 minutes south of Austin on I-35. With over 1 million lights and 100 displays & animations, the one mile drive thru park is seen from the comfort of your own vehicle. Daily 6 pm – 10 pm (11 pm on Fri & Sat) til Jan 2 ($24 per car) New Braunfles, Texas
Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighting Trail: Nine Hill Country communities participate in this well-known Holiday Lights trail. From the Marble Falls Christmas Walkway of Lights to the Johnson City Lights Spectacular, you can start & stop where ever you want!
Holiday Light Displays in Austin – Home Displays
Harlien Family Christmas: 40,000 synchronized lights go on each evening, this family is accepting donations for the Make a Wish Foundation. Lights are on 6 -10 pm weekdays and 6 – 11 pm weekends. 400 Liscio Cove Georgetown , Texas 78628
Spindler Family Christmas Light Show: The Spindler Family is in Georgetown and bringing an all new light show for us this year. They are accepting unwrapped toys for Brown Santa. Runs daily until Jan 3 from 6 pm – 10 pm. 2441 Candle Ridge Trail, Georgetown, TX 78626
Toungate Klub Kringle: The Toungate Family has over 25,000 Red, White, & Blue lights that twinkle to over 14 differnt songs – including one for the Troops! They also feature an 18-foot treet that lights up to the music. 2305 Arroyo Grande, Leander, TX
Rhodes Family Christmas: This home was featured on ABC’s Great Christmas Light Fight, so we expect big things to come this year! They are collecting canned goods for a local food bank. Check their Facebook page below for details. 2410 Sharon Drive Cedar Park, TX
Chinati Court: This cul-de-sac lights up each night and is a collection for cash & toy donations for Brown Santa. Chinati Ct, Cedar Park, TX 78613
Shady Oak Christmas Display: Another amazing home light display running now nightly. 107 Shady Oak Drive Georgetown, TX
Dickens the ReinDog Wonderland A new home light display running now nightly. 30 Meandering Way Round Rock, TX
Elfvis & The Kringles: CANCELLED FOR 2019 One of the BEST Home Holiday Light Displays I have ever seen, this family features animated characters and light displays – and a new friend this year, Olaf! Daily 6-9 pm (free)
Whew!! Now the real questions is, Are there enough days in December to see them all???
