Mother’s Day in Austin ~ 2014

Mother’s Day – made up holiday or a day to recognize Mom??  Either way, it’s a great day to spend with the one who raised you.  I always like to spend Mother’s Day doing something fun and different with the family, so I thought I’d find some fun ideas to do in the Austin area together with mom.  And even if you don’t live in Central Texas, these are some great ideas to see if they are available in your area too!

Get Outside

• Take a docent led tour of the Zilker Botanical Gardens
• Spend the afternoon learning how to Geocache
• Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s Gardens on Tour – A Mother’s Day Tradition on Saturday, May 10, 2014. 
• Hike Mt. Bonnell with a picnic lunch
• Austin Symphonic Band Mother’s Day Concert at the Capitol on Sunday, May 11, 2014
• Spend the afternoon on Lady Bird lake trying your hand at Stand Up Paddle boarding, Water Bikes, or kayaking
