Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center represents Texas well. With the Lone Star Atrium (complete with Oil Derrick & Alamo), amazing Texas-themed restaurants, and western decor, one could wonder how the new resort water park could fit into this amazing Texas destination.
Paradise Springs not only “fits in”, it exceeds expectation!
As you drive into the resort, you pass Paradise Springs, so my kids already had it in mind that we “must spend all day there, MOM!!”
This 10-acre resort pool & lazy river complex is fantastic for all ages. We started in the 600-foot-long lazy river – I honestly can’t tell you how many times we went around, it was that relaxing!
We also enjoyed the family pool that has 2 hot pools, a 27-foot waterside, and a dedicated toddler pool that is shaded (smart thinking there!). My kids also took plenty of turns on the zip line and shot a few hoops in the underwater “basketball court”. My toddler was perfectly content to play in the shallow end of the family pool for hours.
Paradise Springs is available to guests of Gaylord Texan only and a wristband is required for admittance. We were there on a Thursday and never had long lines for the slide or felt crowded in the lazy river. I felt perfectly comfortable letting the older kids go and play where they wanted, as there were tons of lifeguards posted throughout the area.
There are plenty of chairs to choose from, shaded or not. And private cabanas are available for rent.
Paradise Springs also has a full-service bar & grill, a snack shop, and menus to order from your chair.
Up until September 3, Paradise Springs is celebrating Poola-Palooza on Thursdays-Sundays. In the afternoons, enjoy a DJ who plays fun games & trivia for prizes, get a temporary glitter tattoo, and enjoy Silly Hour Drink Specials.
Paradise Springs really enhances your family’s stay at Gaylord Texan Resort & Spa. After checking out some of the fun in Grapevine (LEGOLAND anyone??), it is the perfect way to spend the afternoon.
Make sure you check out our stay at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Spa too.

Absolutely love hotels with full water parks. Especially when they restrict them to guests only. It keeps the crowds manageable and makes the whole experience that much more fun. Gaylord Texan looks like they’ve got quite the winner here!
