This holiday season, make plans to visit Prairie Lights, a drive-through light experience in Grand Prairie, Texas. The whole family will enjoy watching four million colorful lights dance in animated displays, arches, and tunnels!
Prairie Lights
Starting Thanksgiving night, visitors to Grand Prairie’s Lynn Creek Park can see delightful animated lights displays at the annual Prairie Lights. This holiday light park offers two miles of entertaining scenes to enjoy from the comfort of your car, with a stop in the middle for some outdoor family fun.
Set the radio dial to festive tunes and cruise by animated characters from A Christmas Carol, a themed “Under the Sea” display, Train Depot lights, and more. There is entertainment for all on both sides of the road, from elves throwing gingerbread men to a hungry yeti to an alien being watched by an FBI snowman.
Holiday Village
Halfway through the drive, you can park your car and stretch your legs in the Holiday Village. Here, you’ll find a nice, warm tent where kids can enjoy hot chocolate and watch a brand new holiday show. Then, visit Santa! Santa Claus will be indoors in the Holiday Village every night through December 23. Photos will be available for purchase.
Once you’re good and warm, head outside for funnel cake, corn dogs, a carousel ride, and the Holiday Magic Lighted Walk-Through Forest!
Holiday Magic Lighted Walk-Thru Forest
Behind the tent in Holiday Village, the Holiday Magic Lighted Walk-Thru Forest awaits! This walk-through adventure is included in Prairie Lights admission. So, let the kids wander around the maze of lights, which includes a fun tunnel and a walk-through Christmas tree. Just make sure you’ve bundled up for this part of the adventure!
Drive-Through Light Tunnel
Once back in your car, there are more lights to see as you make your way towards the exit. The whole family will enjoy singing along with “The 12 Days of Christmas” before driving through a trippy animated light tunnel.
Hours
Prairie Lights is open from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve, every night from 6-10 p.m. Expect long wait times from December 13 to December 25.
Tickets
Both General Admission and Fast Pass tickets are available online. Prices start at $45 per car. Follow Prairie Lights on Facebook and Twitter as they sometimes share coupons.
