Village Artisan at H-E-B Blooms

Spread the love

One of my favorite things to do as an Influencer is to share with you amazing products, especially those with amazing stories behind them.  I really love to hear how some companies are formed or where the products originate.  If someone’s hands are on the actual product that makes it to me – even better.  There is no better feeling in the world than knowing you are helping someone make a better life for themselves by supporting what they do.

Maybe it’s because I’m a mom and I really love small businesses.  Or maybe it’s because this bracelet is so adorable (and I’ve had a dozen people ask me about it).  Maybe I just love telling the story of how it came to be.  Whatever the reason, I think it’s an important story to tell.

Village Artisan

[dropshadowbox align=”none” effect=”lifted-both” width=”auto” height=”” background_color=”#ffffff” border_width=”1″ border_color=”#dddddd” ]Village Artisan believes that every woman has a story and each handmade piece, created with love, shares the story of artisans finding hope, empowerment, and dignity through skill training and fair trade in a caring community.[/dropshadowbox]

Created 16 years ago, the story of how Village Artisan came to be is empowering.  A Canadian couple dreamed of helping the struggling North Indian artisan market.  Hearing story after story of artists wanting a fair market to sell their goods, they created Village Artisan.  Making only unique quality products, this company now employs over 100 artists.

By finding a way to give these individuals sustainable profits, Village Artisan has supported impoverished families, a clean water initiative, improved healthcare and began the Village Artisan School Sponsorship Program.  This program allows Indian children to attend school – what our children groan about, they consider an unreachable luxury.

Village Artisan Products

Village Artisan products are 100% eco-friendly and made from a range of natural and recycled materials.  Beautiful, rich-colored sari scarves can be worn in many ways. Handmade soap of deep, earthy scents make a wonderful gift.  The diary & cards are made out of 100% recycled paper.  And the jewelry is chic and affordable.

I love these big chunky, colorful necklaces & bracelets.

As I mentioned earlier, when I wear this bracelet, I get to tell a story about it as well, the one of the artisan woman in North India  ” whose hearts and dreams are carried within this piece.”

Village Artisan available in H-E-B Blooms

Village Artisan brings amazing handcrafted pieces from North India to local H-E-B stores in Texas.  I was thrilled to walk into my local H-E-B and see this gorgeous table of Village Artisan products.  I have always admired the fact that H-E-B supports local chefs and food products.  Now they are going global by supporting artists on the other side of the world.

I encourage you to check out the Village Artisan collection the next time you are in H-E-B.  Pick up a piece for your girlfriend or mom….or even you, and know WHO you are supporting when you do so.

I always get compliments whenever I wear my jewelry and scarves from Village Artisans. The chunky white multi-strand necklace in your photos is one of my favorites because I love the detail of its handcarved wooden clasp. The craftsmanship is high quality, and the designs are gorgeous. I know the owners of Village Artisan from when we both lived in Malaysia and can attest that they are truly inspiring and generous people. I’m so glad that I can now start buying their products in Austin.
