Having a dog can be messy – in more ways than one. And as much as I love my big German Shepherd, Jake, there is evidence of him everywhere. When I was recently asked to share how I use Windex® for Spring Cleaning, it was very easy to do. Just follow my typical morning.
How Windex® Can Clear Up My Morning
Mornings in my house are a blur. With 3 kids in 3 schools, the wake-up/feed-breakfast/make-lunch/drive-to-school is on repeat 3 times from 6:30 am to 9:00 am. So when I get back from the 3rd drive to school, I make myself a cup of coffee and allow myself to enjoy it in my quiet house. I like to sit in my kitchen and allow the sun to shine thru the whole backside of my house – such a great way to start the morning.
But as I glance around, my serene feeling is stopped short.
Because of this. This streaky-door.
Let me get a little closer, so you can take in the full streaky-effect of my serene-breaking moment.
Any guesses who the culprit of these streaks are? Meet Jake, my 2-year-old German Shepherd. He’s gorgeous, but full of mischief.
And as I have done for years, I pull out my Windex® from the cabinet beneath the sink and spray away.
A quick wipe horizontally on this side.
Open the door to spray Windex® on the other side.
And a quick wipe vertically.

When cleaning glass doors with Windex®, wipe horizontally on one side of the glass and vertically on the other. It helps eliminate any streaks and you can easily see any spots on either side you may have missed.
And there’s my buddy. On the other side of the CLEAN GLASS DOOR (looks good doesn’t it?). He better attest give me a couple of hours before he messes it up again.

In all seriousness, I have used Windex® for years. It seems like it has always been the one standard cleaning product that we have used in our family.
